should he file a police report?
ok, so my family and i are in the process of moving, and my dad collects antiques. about 97% of our furniture is antique. anyway, my dad has this linen press cabinet, one of his favorite pieces, and a few weeks ago, the top of it went missing. my mom and i tried to reason with him “no one but us can get into the garage” and “the top doesn’t even come off!” and “it’s probably in the garage somewhere” but w/e we say, he always gets mad. he called our real estate agent, and he told my dad the same thing my mom and i told him. and now, my dad wants to file a police report! i know it’s not going to do any good. do u think he should?
p.s. my dad is 150% positive that someone stole it — impossible
He should go ahead, people have filed reports for a lot less. The Police should file a report upon his request, but that doesn’t mean they won’t take him seriously, unless the stolen piece was worth a lot. Imagine my face when I took a report for a $500 coil.
